My most beloved and cherished anime to date. If Overlord were a song, it would be a ballad played before the ears of angels amongst a neverending starry nightsky. There are many beautiful aspects of Overlord, but the one that stands out the most is the side cast. The amount of development that undergoes these characters following the reincarnation of Momonga is a gallant journey with so much emotion and thematic expression that gives each side character their own spotlight and dedicated pull on their new world.

The Case Study of Vanitas can be described as someone who grew up good looking. It is so incredibly beautiful to look at with above average animation and great color grading. But wow is it also just so boring to follow. The plot is just, there. I think the only reason anyone would ever watch this is because of the fact that there are vampires, and that the artsyle and character designs are just nice to look at (and that's fine).

This is by far the worst anime I've had the displeasure of forced consumption. What an absolute hidden rusty warn down gem. I say this because it isn't gold or really even all that great, but its unique with an interesting power system that is applied to all parts of the verse. The protagonist starts off being pretty creepy and the female lead is also quite boring. Getting to the middle of the season is where things sit at enjoyable to watch. If I had to choose a show that was most similar I'd probably say Black Clover.

I really wanted to like this but the amount of focus this show has on the harem elements completely degrades any actual progression of the plot. I can tolerate a good amount of it, but when the pacing shifts from somehow things finding themselves to revolve around some girl that for whatever reason finds some kind of appeal in the most boring "realist" protagonist of all time, it starts to look feel like that's the only thing the writer of this slop actually cares about.

I have been begging for a season 2 of this anime for over half a decade now. A season 2 would feed families.
Never will I ever get tired of the overlooked and mislabled, secretly incredibly talented swordsman trope. WOW this show is just some of that great old isekai slop that I LOVE. Assassins are very cool. Assassins with magic... even cooler. The main character is, of course, overpowered. The relationship dynamic between him and his family are pretty enjoyable to watch as it falls into a subplot of lineage.
However, it can get a little weird when trying to explore some other standards of isekai tropes. The rewatch value on these 12 episodes is kind of ridiculous. Absolutely nothing happens, yet, so much does. It's a clear parody of so many isekais that it's hilarious when anything remotely "isekai" actually happens.
It has its shortcomings, like not really executing very well when navigating comedy and actual stakes, but for what it's worth, if you turn your brain completely off when watching it... you'll probably be too focused on wondering if the Queen will have any more screen time. This was a blind watch. I remember seeing the title in the crunchyroll recommended feed thinking—what an absolute dumpster fire has just graced my recommendations? 86? This looks like another Tales of Zestiria the X meets the Mecha genre. Oh how wrong I was.

There is a special place in my heart for just this show. It has its own room and everything with a little sign and a cute pink door. We can just get it over and say this is the greatest romance anime of all time. It honestly hurts to even hear any semblance of disagreement from watchers who clearly have never either been in a relationship or are under the age of 14.
