My tsundere awakening-

I came into it thinking it would be a bad boy/good girl story but it turned out to be a well-written 'guy who is good but gets invovled in bad stuff' story. The female lead is verryyy cute and I love how the male lead always feels like a calm cup of tea despite his eccentrities.

The manga never misses in the comic scenes and despite it feeling like a total romance for teenage females, I mean, as it should. Its shoujo plus I am into it. I like blushing in front of my screen like a weirdo with no life.

I ... love this manga and can't wait for new chapters and to see how it progresses!

The had a pretty good storyline but the fact that it is a one-shot might have hindered the manga from displaying it's true potential. The characterisation of the grim reaper was unique and interesting, perhaps due its romantic nature too. Weirdly enough, I was quite taken by their chemistry. For a story with a lot of time-skips, I could still see a potential romantic relationship between the two main characters. I loved how they executed the time jumps, it was not awkward but rather it was easy to follow and understand.

At the end, I was more disappointed than impressed. It felt like a teaser chapter ... for a longer manga and if that was the case, I would have been absolutely sold on it too.

The manga was quite sweet depicting teenage relationships. However it wasn't the most satisfactory, I felt the writing was subpar, the art was cute but that's it. Nothing unique or noticeable and the story was kind of bland.

There was a point where a jealousy scene was added but it was executed very poorly. Now, I am not fond of misunderstandings and unnecessary drama but the story could have benefitted a lot more from expanding on that or having executed it better.

The only good thing I can talk about the manga is the last chapter, a pretty solid ending for a manga if it had been ... a oneshot or been a story with very minimal chapters.

It tried to come off as a sweet cliche high school shoujo where there is a shy but bold FL but it only accomplished in weirding me out with the characters. I feel like it accomplished very little given the amount of chapters it has.

But it was cute I guess..

Hana to Kuchizuke is a great romance book but not a good age-gap book.

Chapter 1 itself is flawed, rushed and despite the refreshing artstyle and scenes, it lacks a certain depth that I could not top thinking about till the end. Ignoring my morality, logic and reasoning, it was fine.

The further chapters were one of the most wholesome relationship I have seen in mangas, maybe it is because of the fl's naively bold nature whereby confrontation comes naturally to her or the ml's ability to always maintanin a clear head, I cannot tell you but they do suit each other in a way that they ... make up for each other where one lacks. They had me screaming, giggling, blushing and cuddling my blanket- I loved that there was no unnecessarily dragged out drama or misunderstanding.

The characters were gorgeous, especially the side characters. Touma reminded me of 707 from Mystic Messenger for some reason and I could not stop calling him Seven throughout the manga.

Having binged the manga in a day, I can say without a doubt, the plot gets you hooked almost instantaneously. It might not be in the first few chapters itself but after a while of their presence in the drifting net cafe, there is a certain morbd curiosity that draws you in. The gore is well coupled with the artstyle and although the storyline was not the most eye-catching or interesting to me, I found the delivery to be pretty good.

Given that the manga itself is short 63 chapters only, the story was well-paced and despite there being some moments where I had to ... wonder about our protaganist and his morals in life, it does not mean any fault to the story or the writer. I was quite revulsed by our protaganist, especially towards the end of the story so props to the writer for executing his character in such a way that had me rooting at the start to feeling bad for his wife. (Poor Yukie.... I just wish they didn't stay together but that's more so my own thought and perhaps not realistic.) His character had a realistic end, it felt like he needed that whole experience to grow up and truly realize he had many hings to be grateful for.

I loved the ending too. Although obviously, any scene with the protaganist just made me want to move on to the next panel faster.

The manga is worth a read, it is not one you have to think much for, as in, it is not too much of thriller that has you holding to your chair but rather has a certain softness to it too, playing with psychology and human emotions, a good psychological thriller but not the kind that has you scartching your brain while making sure your legs are covered by the blanket.

A short and sweet oneshot about two childhood friends who come to the realization that the feelings they hold for each other might be more than that of mere friendship between two individuals. The oneshot was, for a lack of better words, a true oneshot. It did not go into much detail about anything but it gave the reader he opportunity to see for themselves or fill in the gaps in the way they desire. The ending was pretty open but 'guided' nontheless, that is, despite there not being an ending for the couple, the last panel points the reader to one direction only.

The ... art was very enjoyable and had quite a touch of sports manga artstyle in the way the characters were drawn while retaining a certain shoujo and slice of life charm. In short? It was new.

Its a very short read that won't take up much of anyone's time so giving it a try wouldn't hurt!💙

A story, yet again, about the detriments of greed.


We've all heard it before, different variations on how greed adds nothing of importance to the life of a person. And this story is yet another that shows us how we might be missing out on happiness, because of our desire for more.

The story also shows the result of losing your grip on reality. The protagonist forgets to be realistic and holds on to a foolish wish, which brings forth a wasted life.

As could be seen from the story, his life was one a lot of people dream of. A happy family, even grandchildren. ... Yet, he was too caught up in his delusional wishes that he forgot how good a 'normal life' could be.

However, the story could also reflect the mind of a young person. And how not everything is crystal clear... or how a child doesn't usually think things through before taking it to the extreme.


Overall, it is a one-shot worth reading.
