I am not a fan of the short episode format. This show irritates me as much as anything in the format, but I have to admit that it is very entertaining. I might have enjoyed it more if I waited until the whole series was done and watched it all at once.

The story is a somewhat sequel to Milky Highway, a one episode show about the two MC’s. Addition of a few other quirky characters adds some real entertainment value to this series.

So what makes this show so good? Simply the voice acting. The VAs are so good at the fast paced back ... and forth between the characters. You just constantly giggle at the ridiculous conversations that are happening throughout the show.

It’s definitely worth the time to watch it.

You knew after the tourism ads of an episode in Jashin-chan and Uzaki-chan that someone would eventually make a whole series taking that idea to its inevitable conclusion. This is just that, a tourism ad disguising itself as an anime series. It does it poorly.

There’s just no way getting around the fact that this anime is rather boring. The characters are so shallow that even in the world of CGDCT, they come off as flat. The MC and her friends go to interesting places and do exactly what the tourism brochure would tell you to do. Nothing out of the ordinary ever happens, except ... that places are closed unexpectedly. I’m guessing that the studio couldn’t get permission or sponsorship from those locations so they just included them but not show them.

If you’re into YouTube travel videos, you might sort of enjoy parts of this, but there’s just not much else to recommend.

If you’re looking for a better alternative this season, watch Mono. It’s similar in premise, but the stories are actually interesting and the characters are genuinely likable.

The most disappointing anime of the season. The mysteries are uninteresting. In fact, much of the medical stuff on this show is just juvenile in its simplicity. The MC is unlikable to the point of annoyance. Even a great VA like Sakura Ayane can’t help sounding like a whiny high school kid.

The broadcast schedule had to include three pointless episodes of Sakura Ayane doing things unrelated to the anime. It stinks of bad planning and directing.

The animation itself is so janky at times, you can’t see production must have had difficulties.

The OP sung by the great Aimer doesn’t fit the theme or ... style of the show at all. Once again, bad directing.

There is no denying the originality of this story. It certainly is the most intellectual (or pseudo-intellectual depending on your point of view) Godzilla story ever told. That this story is being told through the medium of anime instead of live action should not come as a surprise since there are moments throughout the show that would cost millions in SFX if done live action.

I like the characters very much. They are all intelligent and rarely do anything stupid that makes you groan. Some characters who would have been turned into a second rate villain in past Godzilla stories are actually very nuanced and have ... reasonable points of view to do what they think is the right thing. The MC's are not superheroes, but just very intelligent characters trying to do their best, as in real life.

The anime style is very original. It tries its best to balance between cute and realistic. I think they did a pretty good job.

The story is a very interesting original tale, if not a little convoluted. Time travel stories are notoriously hard to keep a track of, and this one is no different. The first half gives you the mystery and is straightforward enough, but the second half gets boggled down by the pseudo-science and at certain points become almost incomprehensible without the MCs giving us an info dump in the way of SMS text messages between the two. Not exactly subtle. Also, let me warn you that the ending is rather abrupt. Not bad, but also not the best.

The best thing about this show is that you can tell the creators love the Godzilla (and other Toho monster) franchises. The EP is simply a love letter to all past films and is an absolute joy to try to find every little bit of Easter Egg in it. I've noticed about two dozen immediately, but my understanding is that there are a heck of a lot more.

I would absolutely recommend this show. It is fun. It is certainly much better than the last attempt to animate Godzilla.
