I really enjoyed Cosmic Princess Kaguya, but it’s also one of those movies that left me feeling a little emotionally off in a way I can’t stop thinking about.
Visually, the film is gorgeous in a soft, almost fragile way. The art style is bright and bold as well as the colours, used wonderfully in multiple different settings, helping enhance each scene. The music was alright, you'll survive. The pacing is uneven in a way that can be both beautiful and frustrating. I discovered this manhwa earlier this year and have been HOOKED, eagerly waiting for upcoming chapters. Not only is the art work amazing, but the plot itself leaves you wanting more!!
What stands out the most for me is the FL. She's morally grey, emotionally detached, and honestly a little unhinged which is what makes her refreshing. She doesn't try to be righteous or lovable, and she doesn't care about being understood. We rarely get female leads like this, especially ones who are allowed to be cold, selfish, and psychologically messy without the story forcing redemption or softness onto them.
