Genuinely interesting setup let down by sub par writing.
I can't remember the last time I was so torn on a manga. The world is unique and interesting, characters, plot and magic system all above average with some really great ideas and developments. The art is great as well.
This should be an easy 9/10 yet it gets one of the fundamentals so consistently badly wrong that it hurts:

Okay start with a sudden dip down edgelord alley followed by redo of healerish bs that some 12 year olds might find entertaining...
The start premise is actually good (given it's contemporaries in the bottom shelf of isekai) for several chapters it's played for laughs and obviously aware of how campy and edgy the MC is. It feels a bit like eminence in shadow but while Sid is played for laughs this one at some point seems to forget that part and leans in. Just making him an unbearable Cunt of a protagonist who murders innocents yet is still played as the self insert protag ...

Solid Candidate for worst adaptation of the decade. Skip this and read the Webcomic / LN instead.
If anyone wanted a blue print on how not to do it, take note ! After hearing much praise of the original, I gave the Anime a try, then quit and read the original. Turns out, the base material is absolutely solid, unique, quite well written with interesting characters, believable worldbuilding and keeping a nice ballance between action, drama and humor.
