I was giving this anime the benefit of doubt because it had several bad reviews. But I kid you not, whatever the reviews say, word by word it happens in the anime. There is next to no progress story-wise even after watching 5 episodes. I quit it in the middle of episode 5.
Story - 3/10
The storyline had potential, but they keep on dragging the same drama without break. Every time something happens, it is because the blue haired girl ruins the moment.
Character development - 2/10
The anime title gets its answer during the first 3 episodes itself when the blue haired girl notices she
...
does not want to remain friends with the main character. From then on, the same thing keeps on repeating itself. There is no progress at all. The black haired girl has no significance whatsoever other than to continue the overdramatic scenarios that the blue haired girl creates. She is completely insecure.
Soundtracks - 5/10
Nothing remarkable, and completely forgettable.
Art - 7/10
Perhaps the only good thing about this anime.
Animation - 6/10
Nothing special in this department either.
Overall - 4/10
I do not recommend this anime.

This anime is one of the unique shows that I have ever watched. It gives you one hell of a ride until before the end. I have read many people praising the ending, but it was not my cup of tea. It felt random and way too sudden to call it a proper ending. It was not satisfying for me in any manner.
Art - 10
The art in this show is perfect, Probably one of the best art and visuals I have seen in any anime, but it focuses on a lot of dark scenes.
Sound - 10
The soundtracks, songs and sound overall were pretty
...
solid. I have no complaints in this regard.
Characters - 10
Character development is superb, especially that for one of the antagonists. That is all that can be said without revealing too much. The protagonist(s) also have good character development.
Story - 6
Lots of philosophical discussions are there, and if you are into that, you'll love it. I have gone through similar conversations on online forums, so it felt like rinse-repeat to me. Also, the story makes a complete turn at the end, which was pretty underwhelming for me. The way the story ends is impacting the score I am putting here and the overall score. But if the journey till the end is to be considered, story-wise, I'd say it is one of the best anime out there - 10/10. But with the ending considered, I can hardly even give it a 7/10.
Overall - 6/10
The anime is amazing, and the journey till the end is awesome. But the ending falls short and ruins it overall. At first, I was hoping to re-watch this show after it fully aired because waiting weekly was not a good experience for me. But the ending was just so bad in my opinion that I won't even be able to re-watch it. You can say, it is Game of Thrones of anime. The story is good, but the ending fell short. But I have seen several people like it as well. I'd recommend this solely because the experience was good till almost the end.

This anime had the potential to become great, but as an anime only, I can say that it is just disappointing. We were left out of a lot of explanations. The budget constraints are clearly visible and at the same time, we can see that it was pretty much rushed. One moment, a lot of people are there and the other, only a few are there. Small things along with the rushed plot ruined this. Towards the end, fights, which normally should last 2–3 episodes, last about 10 minutes or even less than that.
Animation: 6/10
It could've been a lot better than what we got.
...
There's nothing extraordinary about this.
Art: 8/10
I liked the character designs.
Sound: 8/10
The ending song and a few soundtracks were to my liking.
Story: 6/10
As I wrote earlier, if it were well paced and properly written, we would have got a great story. Instead, we got a rushed series with very little and delayed explanations for whatever was explained.
Overall, it was fine at best to watch as a weekly show. If you missed this show while it was airing, I don't think it is worth watching. There are tons of other anime which are better. The concept used in the show is something that is not used many times, at least in the way it was portrayed in this show, but it did not do well.

This manga captivated me first because of how unique and detailed it seemed. This went on until at least the culling games arc. Shibuya arc is where this series peaked. After that, the writing felt a little bit off to me, but I still put up with it. Shinjuku showdown was action packed for sure, and I liked it till a certain point, but after about chapter 235, everything just went downhill. There was almost no progress, and mindless action beyond that. When the manga was announced to end in 1 month, it had about 5 potential chapters to give it a proper closure, but
...
in reality the author took 1 break which brought us down to 4 chapters. Even then, only a little bit of relevant talks happened, which all can just fit in 1 chapter. The rest of the chapters were full of characters and plot lines I could honestly do without. It is sad for such a great series to go downhill like this. Initially, I gave it a solid 9 rating, but now I will give it a 3 because how it just abandoned its own plot lines. I still think there might be more to this and maybe, Shounen Jump asked Gege to wind up. Whatever the cause may be, it doesn't change the fact that it left a bad taste for its readers, or at least for me. If I talked about art as well, it kept fluctuating a lot, going back and forth between good and average. I'd recommend people to read it but not expect much from the later half of the series, particularly beyond chapter 235. If you're fine with it, you can even stop watching at Shibuya, honestly.

I was not a fan of the synopsis to begin with, but I tried it regardless. You'll find many people talk about how funny this show is, and perhaps it most likely will appeal to a certain group of audience. I, however, am not a part of that and I don't actually find anything that happens in this show to be funny. In my opinion, it tries a bit too hard to be funny, but everything is just superficial. There is a main storyline, but all the other side stories are overpowering it all, and you don't even see it much. I am 4 episodes
...
in and this is where I drop it because it is just overly repetitive at this point.
I give a 3/10 for storytelling. It is just like any other isekai show without any depth to it. The main character is summoned to another world by the truck-kun experience. Unlike other main characters, this one was actually planning on dying and is still trying to do so in this otherworld. No matter what he does, he never dies and everyone else keep revolving around him without any reason. We get the 2nd companion who is a cat lady, and she just tags along because the main character saves her by mistake (even if it were intentional, it is still weird for her to follow him around). There's no real sense of danger because we already know the main character and his companions will make it out of every situation, and anyone who dares to challenge them is going to fall no matter what.
Contrary to the story, the animation, art and soundtracks all seem to be fine. But the story is one of the main things that should never be ignored, which this series continually seems to do. There are far better shows out there to entertain yourself with than to keep on watching a dull show as this which insensitively plays around with suicidal stuff.
Even if you do decide to watch it, it is just your average isekai to pass your time.

I watched lovely complex in 2024 after having watched a ton of other modern day anime. A few of my friends suggested me this anime because it was one of their very first anime which they liked. I gave it a go, but ever since I started it, I have only felt regret.
Story - 1/10
The story is focused on the main duo, with a few other side characters around for comedy and support. The entire story dumbed down till at least episode 13 is that there's a tall girl who falls in love with this short guy from her class. Both of them are comedy
...
duo of their class. The girl tries confessing her feelings to the guy, but the guy is just so dumb that he takes multiple episodes of trial and failure from the girl's side to finally get that she likes him. Even then, he has issues because he cannot reciprocate the feelings back to the girl. The girl gives up but gets egged on by her classmates into giving it another go. Afterward, she just tries again and again. She doesn't take no for an answer. Every time she is rejected, she ends up crying and there's just a lot of drama that will readily give you a headache. It is not just her fault, either, because the guy keeps sending mixed signals. He used to say that he didn't like her the same way, and then he went on to say that he is not closed off entirely either. But, he also does not like the attention that she is giving him.
Art - 7/10
The art is fine, but it is not to my personal taste. It could've been better, but it fits it considering this anime aired in 2007.
Sound - 7/10
The sound effects are fine.
Animation - 5/10
Nothing special to note when it comes to the anime.
Character development - 2/10 (at least until episode 13)
No notable character development. The girl became so persistent that I think it went downhill when it comes to her character development. The guy also comes off as scummy for not being fully clear about what he wants.
Enjoyment - 1/10
I would even say it made me cringe every moment possible. There was just nothing in this show that ever managed to give me butterflies, and I couldn't even continue it, thinking of any possibility of it redeeming itself further down the lane.
Overall - 2/10
I just could not watch it. There was nothing special about this show except for the main girl being taller than the guy.

The first season was somewhat okay for me, but ever since the second season started, I have had issues with this anime.
The explanations provided for things were present in the first season, so a good deal of stuff did not make sense to me.
The characters were introduced in a hurry and the show barely gave time for the audience to feel any sort of connection with the characters. The anime is full of female characters, strangely (mostly on the good side). The fodder and the bad guys have got male characters.
Everything was super forgettable and did not ignite any interest for me.
...
Story (4/10)
Honestly, if it were done properly, I think it'd be lots better than what we got. The story has an interesting concept, but the way it was portrayed in the anime was really subpar.
Soundtrack/music (7)
Background music was fine, but I mostly liked the ending song more. It was the only part of the show that I was actually looking forward to every week.
Characters (2)
Like I said before, good ones are mostly female, and the bad ones are mostly male, except for a few.
I don't think anyone got any sort of proper character development except for Amiya.
Animation (5)
Lots of panning animations and scenes where we don't see characters talking. Sometimes it'd be focused on their upper half of the face to avoid animating their mouth movements.
Art (9)
Easily the best thing about this show apart from the ending song.

This is one of those anime which you pick up randomly only to fall in love with it later on.
Before going on with my review, I will make two things clear.
First is that this isekai anime is the first isekai anime picked up by the anime studio Mappa.
Second, this anime is solely focused on cooking. You can say that this is a cooking show but the setting is isekai instead to make things look more vibrant and interesting.
I am not a reader of the source for this anime, but I am loving each and every moment of it. It is chill, funny
...
and introduces a lot of delicious looking food. If you are a food lover, then you'll absolutely love this anime. The story set up is a guy getting isekai'd into this new world which is full of people and monsters. Modern technology does not exist, and neither does concept of having a cattle farm for meat. He is not alone, but other people do get isekai'd with him. He is the only one out of them who doesn't have an attack/defense based skill. His skill is online grocery and with money, he can buy things from there. So, he asks for leave instead of hanging out where he was summoned, and embarks on a journey only to meet this mythical beast, Fenrir, who saw him cooking and fell in love with his food. He proposed to become the main character's familiar. He hunts for meat, and he makes them. Other parts of the monsters that are not edible are sold by them to earn money for the online grocery. The way the food is presented each episode, makes you drool and crave for it. The food made by the main character bears resemblance to our real life food so it is not just fantasy food but something that you might be familiar with. Fenrir is the strongest, so he hunts down his preys pretty easily and the people are amazed at his presence by the main character's side.
The recurring characters are the main character and Fenrir so far. There's a woman from the guild but it does not look like they will ever meet again. There was an adventurer group which the main character hired on the first episode so they might become recurring characters but after their exit, we haven't seen them since except for a side clip where they miss the food cooked by the main character.
This is not a power fantasy anime where the main character just goes and stomps on people. This is an anime focused on the laid back life of a guy who got isekai'd and has a powerful familiar to hunt and make delicious and brilliantly presented food. If you are into this type of anime, then definitely give it a try. I cannot say much about how this anime will end, but so far it has been good. Anime like this don't get further seasons announced, but maybe we will get lucky with this series.

I liked this anime very much and I think it deserves a lot more attention from all sports anime lovers than it got. It needs more recognition. It focuses a lot on character growth of the players including the main character. It shows each moment how they grow step by step from being nobodies to being an amazing player. While we didn't get to see any kind of tournament in the first season, I am still inclined to say that I enjoyed all the matches that were shown. My only issue would be that at the end they didn't show the entire match. They tried
...
stuffing in a bit of drama towards the end that took away the time from showing the entire match. They skipped from the middle to the end result.
I am not a manga reader, so I am not sure if this was the same in manga but at least as an anime only watcher I felt that was a bit incomplete. I enjoyed watching this a lot on Saturdays and I will miss it very much. Hope that it gets a 2nd season!

I am not sure what to say after having watched this anime. The main character was treated poorly and he got a chance to redo all things over. Now, he's on a quest to take revenge on all those people who have belittled him or treated him poorly. Every episode has rape scenes and our main character is a rapist. The initial episodes contained torture but later on it became all about rape. Towards the end, the torture part comes back for a brief moment although indirectly.
He gathers up the girls he takes revenge on and they become part of his harem. With each
...
passing episode he thinks he is becoming more weaker by losing motivation for revenge, so he reawakens his own hatred. He is broken beyond repair and he does unspeakable stuff.
This entire anime is borderline if not actual hentai.
If you do watch this, there's no point of watching the censored version because the entire anime is like that. I don't support stuff like this so I will give it 5 only because he is getting his 'revenge'.
