Ruri no Houseki is a peak educational anime that combines many fields of studies under the umbrella of mineralogy. The animation is very pretty as expected of Studio Bind. The soundtrack while simple is majestic and executed amazingly well throughout the series. The characters, are all at different parts of the journey in the greater mineralogy field are both incredibly beautiful and fun to follow. Every single episode was consistently high in its quality.

Viewers watching this show will not only be left with an appreciation of this anime and mineralogy but also the interconnected of all research and how it is a mark of everything ... in this world.

Food Court is a 6 episode anime that focuses largely on the dialogue between their main characters Wada and Yamamoto. It does relatable characterization right (if you are a youth living a modern society with all its luxuries and have enough so you can care about mundane things). The topics the girls touch every aspect of being a fan in the animanga Japanese sphere and anything else, youth would concern themselves over if they had no other concerns competently. The creators clearly understand youth to a large degree and in doing so, the characters are easily likable and relatable.

We have the characters Wada, the inconsistent ... and petty person that can find anything to complain about and the reasonable Yamamoto who listens and gives the occasionally jab to ground Wada. They go together like peanut butter and jelly as the bestest of friends yet feels realistic and not idealized. This anime is recommended watch for anyone who enjoys Slice of Life and wants to see how far doing little but talking can be very enjoyable.

I am still new to Gundam and Kidou Senshi Gundam: GQuuuuuuX is kira-kira in a mediocre way. This show takes place in an alternate timeline in the mainline series, Universal Century (UC) where Zeon, the antagonist win the inciting conflict of that series. It is shiny and animation is its strong point as well as the music. Honestly if you don't think too much into the show, it is good. In fact, I'd argue down the line, it can be remember for being so bad it is good in a sense. It starts with an interesting premise but the exploration and use of it is ... shallow.

The MCs are to have a romantic-friendship arc. The early stages of the show set that up for one of the 3 main characters. The male love interest in question showed no interest in love and frankly has much personality as a doormat at the end, the payoff is confusing and undeserved. Considering his piloting lineage, as this is in UC, he is an insult to the mech he pilots. On that note, being in UC, but it crammed so many concepts in UC in the form of name drops, without elaboration. It would piss off old time fans who can see their favorite story concepts reduced to a mention, and newer audience like me if we are curious, will search it up and see the wasted potential of its execution.

Those two glaring flaws eat away at an ultimately high budget show and I cannot recommend Kidou Senshi Gundam: GQuuuuuuX to anyone that can't help but notice lazy attempts to pander falls flat due to poor execution. I don't mind pandering, I just want it done well and GQuuuuuuX fails to deliver.

Objectively a masterpiece, when compared to other shorts and how I judge it. Many shorts are fun, but they are low budget. Lycoris Recoil: Friends are thieves of time is fun and high budget given its animation. It has the same excellent pacing it has in the original show, allowing a skit to play itself out while dropping great characterizations of the cast and some lore for those fans who are interested. The voice work is excellent as usual and the characters again feel like real cast of close friends.

Its release on Youtube (for the Americas and Japan), makes it widely accessible, now if ... only EU can count as part of that Youtube release. Lycoris Recoil: Friends are thieves of time will not steal your time, it is a short, and will leave you wanting more. It is recommended to watch for low commitment fun, jokes land and are easy to get even without knowing the main series, it is easy on the eyes as the main cast is quite attractive yet not too ecchi for those who don't like it. Treat it like your the dessert of your animes.

Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku is a show I'll judge for its recitation and ability to wow me over with it. On that it fails the same way a show about singing would fail if it had great instrumentation and choreography overshadowing the singing. The recitation with a handful of exceptions relies on visual and sound effects to wow the watcher instead of relying the seiyuu's voice work.

The OP and ED are a nice listen to and fit the mood. The characters are unique enough and have decent chemistry. The story is fine and supports its recitation/reading/announcing theme. None of it is outstanding, and ... does not counteract the glaring flaw of failing to meet the show's intention.

Assuming one has watched Lycoris Recoil, the anime, there are commonly a set of complaints related to plot, the show being a cliché mess or not being gay enough. Lycoris Recoil: Ordinary Days Volume 1 will address all of them, 2 of them completely, 1 of them kind of.

Narratively, Ordinary Days takes the perspective of multiple characters all hanging out in the café from the various patrons, workers and other relevant characters. The story is self-contained in the earlier portion of the anime. Ordinary Days still manages to retain the mix of an idyllic café with the dark undertones of reality in the original ... anime with a little bit less focus on the fantastical crimefighting and more focus on the café. In addition to that the plot is non-linear yet very interconnected. The execution of this, just like the anime's voice acting was immaculate addressing issues with one may have with a perceived cliché plot.

One of the perspective is Takina's, who has an incredibly close relation with her partner Chisato. From what its worth, the two share dreams, have great chemistry and Takina shows little interest in anything else besides her work's success and her partner.

As it stands, Ordinary Days is a fantastic read good for those who didn't like the anime, and great for those who liked the anime.

This is my first entry into Bang Dream but I am aware the mood is different from other series in the franchise. BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! is simply amazing.

The story is amazing and builds up appropriately keeping certain things secretive until it is time to address the issues. There is an crescendo of drama but with appropriate tension reliving moments up to the climax. Details are dropped at early times in the story to set the stage for further events.

The main characters are all enjoyable. They feel internally logical and have great character arcs. My personal favorite is Soyo. She goes through a lot ... to end up the way she does at the end and none of it feels forced. Anon is an absolute saint and her interactions with everyone else is great. Minor characters that are important down the line are tastefully highlighted and add intrigue to the story.

The music as a music anime is great and crucial to the story. I always like it when a music anime can have some beginner music practice fit in then some good sound tracks at the end.

The animation is mediocre, as it is a 3DCG that is not GBC. Still despite being anime, I won't fault it so much because the rest of the show is super solid.

It is worth giving a watch.

The second season was overall weaker than the first season, due to the lesser stakes and less LLENN focus. Their decision to focus on minor characters within the GGO world had mixed results. On the one hand, if more seasons are adapted, every minor team now has some characterization. On the other hand, the episodes spent on the minor characters were the weakest. The unfortunate part is given the last episode, they definitely could have done effective minor character focus without wasting much screen time so it was a matter of execution where some of it was done good, some of it was done bad.

Any ... episode with a LLENN focus was really good. The action was sharper and her gaming is fun attitude shines in contrast to crazy Pitohui though LLENN in her own way is crazy.

The season of GGO is worth watching with lesser expectations with the first. I appreciate the attempt different direction it took to not make GGO the LFPM show but I do fault its execution.

Na Nare Hana Nare is probably one of the best cheerleading animes, considering there is two that I can remember, Arima Yell which completely forgot it was supposed to be about cheerleading. That being said, as an anime, it struggles with stuffing too much in one season.

Na Nare Hana Nare's animation, music and upbeat nature is a treat. The girls look fine, the cheer choreography is great. Every character feels like they are their own entity and have relevance to the world.

The only problem with this show, is because the characters are actually realistic, they all have problems that are entangled and the show ... respected that enough to attempt to address all of them usually at the same time. It really did its best but the effort stumbled a lot as clearly by the final episode, a lot of new problems were poorly introduced but it was at least adequately solved.

If this show had 2 seasons, this would have been great, but with the 1 season we get, it is a well thought out jumble of a show, that I liked but I know could have been done much better with a few more episodes.

Shikanoko is a mediocre comedic anime. When I look for comedic animes, I look for some semblance of fairness of the jokes. Torako is mostly the butt of the jokes and she just doesn't deserve it. Shikanoko gets away with practically everything making the show seem mean-spirited. This is especially bad during the school festival episode. The other comedic characters barely factor into the jokes which is a shame as it would finally allow Torako to stop being clowned on.

The story and set up of the jokes has the narrator openly call out about how forced the situation is. I appreciate the awareness but wish ... there was more to that as it frankly doesn't excuse the failure to make the situation funny.

Overall a medicore comedy that doesn't live up to its internet hype.
