At first I was really unsure about this but after watching the fourth episode I can now clearly say that Dandadan Season 2 is a big disappointment. For those of you who do not read the manga, I understand that you may think this season has been going all good or even getting better. Yet as a manga reader, I can definitely tell there is something going off.

Season 2 picks up after the explosive first season, continuing the bizarre blend of aliens, spirits, and teen romance story of Ayase Momo and Takakura Ken. While the manga’s material here should be packed with energy and escalating ... stakes, I realize that this adaptation struggles to maintain momentum. The first three episodes may seem fine, but once it reaches the fourth episode the issues become more visible. You can clearly see the heavy use of freeze frames which makes the pacing feel uneven. The moments that should be intense are bogged down by long pauses or static shots.

Season 1 was praised for its creative visuals and fluid motion. Season 2, especially starting from the fourth episode, leans heavily on still shots. Instead of building tension, this approach breaks immersion and makes many scenes feel unfinished or even low effort. Speaking of low effort, there is a scene where they literally use real images for food. Like literally! And while people are making jokes about this online, I still find it questionable in terms of direction and presentation.

Conclusion is, Dandadan Season 2 is a mixed bag. The story still carries charm and the characters remain lovable, but the execution is disappointing. The overreliance on still frames and the lack of strong direction make it fall short. Compared to the highly acclaimed first season, this sequel feels like a step down.

This show is an adaptation from a 4-koma Comic. And tbh I'm really surprised that they can make it to be this good. The animation, music, is pretty solid. Here in this show, we're gonna be following the struggle of an introvert 15 year old girl to make her dream comes true with her friends. Some of us may feel relate to Bocchi's personality and character. The story is very enjoyable to follow. The way they're animating it really fits to the story (especially comedy scenes), The character development is quiet interesting. There's nothing so serious about the plot. Most of the time you watch ... it you'll just laugh. I know it might be a little personal. But for me, shortly, this show is just Peak Comedy.

The first 2 episodes really make a good start for the show. The plot is really interesting. It's taking the Hero ranking system concept into the next level. The Character development of the mc is really good tho. Some of you might think that it seems really fast paced. But I think that's the thing that makes it more interesting to follow. And of course we have to talk about the animation. Damn, that Arcane 3D style is pretty solid. And the timing they switch from 3D to 2D is perfect. Can't wait to see where they're gonna take the story of the show. ... I'm not a donghua fan to begin with. The only donghua I watched is just Link Click. But the way this show caught my attention really makes me putting high expectation into it. I'm really hyped to see this show.
