Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 3rd Season

One year after the events at the Sanctuary, Subaru Natsuki trains hard to better face future challenges. The peaceful days come to an end when Emilia receives an invitation to a meeting in the Watergate City of Priestella from none other than Anastasia Hoshin, one of her rivals in the royal selection. Considering the meeting's significance and the potential dangers Emilia could face, Subaru and his friends accompany her.

However, as Subaru reconnects with old associates and companions in Priestella, new formidable foes emerge. Driven by fanatical motivations and engaging in ruthless methods to achieve their ambitions, the new enemy targets Emilia and threaten the very existence of the city. Rallying his allies, Subaru must give his all once more to stop their nefarious goals from becoming a concrete reality.

Note: This is being written under the assumption that the audience has already seen the previous seasons of Re:Zero.

I put off Re:Zero for so long but when I finally watched it I got through three seasons in less than a month. And let me tell you, I have never had so many "oh crap" and "heck yeah" moments in one show.

My original draw to the anime from season one was the mystery of the plot. You never know how many times Subaru will have to restart and which timeline will work out the best. Overtime, the anticipation of "how" will Subaru succeed became my favorite ... aspect of the plot. It is a show that takes patience to sit through but the story does well to come full circle.

Season three so far is my favorite. I enjoyed seeing all the characters again from season 1 as well as the new companions made in season 2. Getting to see the rest of the cast befriend and fight alongside our main hero was a spectacular treat, especially since the fight scenes were so well animated. It by far did the best job of combining action with narration to progress the plot.

Fans of Re:Zero know that Subaru tends to be hot-headed and passionate. That said, I admired how much he progressed in the story. He went from being an estranged nobody to being heavily relied upon by others. The character development that took place in season two did not go unnoticed. Though still needs some lessons, Subaru is developing into a fine protagonist.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this show and this season particularly. As I mentioned earlier, Re:Zero does take patience (and a strong stomach) to watch. But the amount of work I can see being put into this anime is amazing. The creators really worked hard and it shows. I would recommend this to anyone.

Mixed Feelings

The third season of Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- had developed all the pieces necessary to create an impactfully large-scale conflict but was ultimately disappointing in execution. This arc was not bad in quality but rather consisted of both excellent and poor moments. The action animation improved significantly, the narrative groundwork for success was already laid previously, and the pacing and movie-length first episode were on point. However, it is difficult to be invested in a more action-oriented arc with underwhelmingly designed main antagonists, various weird character archetypes, odd humor, and unnecessarily disturbing scenes without purpose. An exciting premise diminished by distasteful content.

Okay I'll be blunt. It is trash. Loli harem? Loli of lust? Come on, pedo much? Anything that involves or resembles a kid to sexualize just to entertain the degenerate minds of the author and his coomer friends is an automatic cancel in my book.

This is why I don't like the likes of MT, an old man, living inside a young boy lusting after underage girls, it is just fucking creepy for me, I didn't even finish the first season because I feel like I wanna tear that mfker apart when I see him. Subaru is just a simp, anything beyond that is totally ... unredeemable, and he will be til the end, honestly I can't relate to him, watching him I feel repulsed and attacked. His world only revolves around Emilia. It would have been great if this was a redemption story, where our protagonist prioritizes self growth, but no, it's a simpedo story, author revealed his true colors.

The first season was okay, I can relate, I thought it was cool and unique, but second season began to rot, I guess it began when they decided to sideline one of the spices of this anime, because it outshines the main ingredient, but that main ingredient is actually bland af. And they will continue to do so because I think they hate the idea that a maid outshines their main female character, I see now, author is also a degenerate fucking simp for Emilia, why am I even surprised, just kill the maid for fuck's sake. Third season is just a heaping pile of shit with all the loli and stuff, that's the only thing they added, the loli. One loli is not enough for them I guess.

Bye, I'm throwing this one in the trash bin, never to be recycled.
