The anime *Kujima: Why Sing, When You Can Warble?* truly concludes with a deeply melancholic moment! This episode evokes a complex mix of emotions—poignancy, joy, and so much more.

The episode title—"Distance Doesn't Weaken Feelings; It Only Deepens the Longing"—is absolutely perfect!

The choice of music, the beautifully crafted moments, the warmth of family, and—importantly—the stunning scenery all combine to make it truly, utterly perfect!

I am at a loss for words; this is an anime with a truly perfect ending!

Such a wholesome and emotional ending to an anime about a boy and his Russian bird brother

A heartwarming, slightly cursed, and surprisingly emotional story about a supernaturally large Russian bird who migrates to Japan and later becomes a part of Kouda family household.
Bringing neighbors, friends and family together through his antic and curious nature.

Honestly, I was almost crying... I thought Arata and Kujima wouldn't see each other again until the very last minute... but they did meet!! Even though it was super brief :") They said it'd be six months apart, but it ended up being a whole year... T___T still, I'm relieved that Arata didn't feel lonely after Kujima left. That's what matters most.

This is my biggest comfort anime of the season. I love it so much.

Not bad, it's not just about a strange talking bird, but also a family and human struggle.

I knew this finale would be a hard watch from the start of the show but that last scene was too much :')

Loved this show, something totally out of my radar was one of the most interesting, funny and heartwarming show in a long while,

Kujima was hilariously annoying and had great synergy with the rest of the family, his chara design is mascot tier for me too, absolutely fantastic

Will be dearly missed, that's the type of show that really soothes the heart and i needed that.

Solid 7.5/10, almost went for 8 but i'd say the end dragged a bit and too many songs to bait feels u know

Just great, I'd have loved to see Kujima's summer as well but I guess that's up to my headcanon.

Overall a nice show with its quiet atmosphere and comedy.

Did we really need two montages? Great show though, glad I watched it.

Goodbyes aren't forever. Unlike in episode 4 Kujima actually left, but came back. An actual farewell would've been needlessly depressing for this goofy lil series.

The quite song and montage heavy finale was a nice to wrap it up. Very enjoyable series. Kujima and his antics will be missed.

Wholesome and oddly funny series. Glad, Kujima returned. 5,5/10 (but I really wanna give it a 6 for some reason).

it was fun, wholesome, funny as hell, and calming. the moment that montage started, I knew they were going to speedrun the 6 months and Kujima would be back at the ending. I was right after all.
I will miss this. 7/10.

A delightful yet seemingly unappreciated anime. I thought it has a nice mix of absurdity and sincerity. It evoked a sense of Sehnsucht in me.

The Japanese title translated is also sweet, "when things are far from your sight they're closer to your heart"

There's also two more short stories! In Akira Konno's book "Helpful" there's a story about Kujima learning to cook with Maxim, and another story just after Kujima returns. Just a chapter each but hopefully we'll get some more short stories with the success of the anime :)

There's also some prototype Kujima drawings that are unnerving lol. The author seems to draw a lot of cute/scary things and original Kujima leaned more towards scary. Also the role of Arata was originally the person who became Ruiko

I was totally expecting Kujima's return, but when the "tadaima" came up, I still teared up. The whole montage of the events in the past 6 months with the OP playing was such a soothing trip down memory lane. This show is best when depicting the relationships formed with Kujima by everyone.

Cozy slice-of-life comedic drama with a bizarre-looking but absolutely endearing character.

Good farewell episode, but I think they input too much music and flashbacks instead of new scenes. Nonetheless, this show is decent.

KUJIMA FOREVER!!!!!!!! <3333 Gosh I have no words for how much I loved this anime, I still can't believe I got THIS MUCH attached to a bird who first showed up looking for a coin under a vending machine 😂 I knew there was only left for Kujima to go back to russia, 6 months to pass then wait for him to come back, but I really wasn't expecting an episode with the opening song, the op song again but this time full, ANOTHER full song, THEN ENDING WITH THE ED FULL SONG! It made way more comfier waiting for the winter to come again <3 And that ending ;-; Kujima not only saying "I'm back" but also "I'm here to see you again" to Arata ORL FOUND FAMILY GOT ME SOBBING IN HERE! I'll miss this anime so so much. It reminded me so much of Poco from Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari.

Tho I'd wished that while the summer part was happening with Arata and Suguru going back to classes etc, they also showed Kujima back in Russia with Maxim, showing him his pictured from Japan and talking about his family from there :')

I don't have the words to describe my surprised when I started Kujima, I was clearly not ready to love that much this slife of life, and without any doubt, it's one of my best for 26, I don't care if people rate it one, I know what I felt, and that was true feelings...

So good to see Suguru happy and without those dark circles. Happy for him!
Goodbyes are hard but I'm glad these two get to hang out once more.
This anime was something I picked up half as a joke but ended up being so much better than I expected!

What a delightful finish for this nice little series. Yeah maybe two montages set to music was a little overkill, but both were very fitting for their respective uses and the new song was very good as well. Plus, it only makes sense to get a highlight reel of all the great times we and the family have had with Kujima for maximum feels points, although I will admit that I wasn’t very sad because we already knew Kujima would return, it’s just a temporary farewell, the goodbye scene was still very emotional despite that tho. And ah so Suguru is taking classes on Russian huh, that’s a nice little addition to his development over the course of the show, another showing of Kujima’s influence on him.

And the episode ended with Kujima’s return by that same vending machine, the place that started it all. To think if that meeting didn’t happen, Kujima would have left Japan very quickly, but thankfully Arata found him at the perfect time, and now they get to do it all over again after that sweet reunion, very nice spot to end the series on.

And that was Kujima, man this was such a chill and wholesome li’l series, truly a hidden gem of the spring season, really wish I could have caught it weekly but I think I at least got as close as you can get to that, being catching up close to when it finishes airing. I didn’t think I’d come to love this big lanky bird as much as I do now when I started the show, he really made an impact despite standing out so much and just being generally weird, although I never did find him to be scary like some folks were saying back on Episode 1, that is funny in retrospect tho considering that the show leaned into the horror themed bits regarding Kujima lol, I was a big fan of those moments as well. And the show wasn’t just pure SoL, it also had a good feeling of progression with how Kujima made a positive impact on Arata and his family that grew over time, to him becoming a member of the family even, this was especially apparent because of Suguru, who imo was one of the best parts of the show, really loved all the stuff with him and seeing him succeed at getting into his college of choice near the end. And the side characters were nice as well, I especially loved Makoto, I wish there was a bit more to the romance subplot with her but I still really liked what we got.

And I also want to point out the OST, that played a good role in making this show feel special, some of the tracks reminded of one of my favorite game soundtracks of all time, Unravel and its sequel, hopefully it gets released eventually if it hasn’t already because I want it lol, and the OP and ED were really fitting choices as well, I especially loved that unique ED and its visuals. And lastly, I want to thank @Kamiiyorii for putting me on this when she did, it may have been years until I checked it out if not for her!

A bit of a clipshow so sadly not too many new Kujima hijinks but I think it was still a charming sendoff to remind you of the fun times and I loved the nature montage with all the birds and animals. I hope we get a second season for more wacky bird adventures or maybe to even meet Maxim finally.

What an amazing, cozy anime. I decided to binge watch it on a whim, and it turned out to be a really enjoyable experience. Although the animation wasn't anything special, i can overlook it since it it's a slice of life series. Personally, the biggest selling points were definitely the score and the opening theme. They really helped make the show feel even cozier than it already was. I also loved the character development between arata and suguru throughout the series. I feel that because kujima was simply being himself, it allowed the two brothers to grow closer, not only as siblings but as a family as a whole. as for makoto, I think she was a really good side character. Im guessing she has feelings for arata, especially since she's been giving him valentines day chocolates every year since they were children. I hope they eventually end up together, with kujima acting as the one who gives them the push they need, lol. overall, I'd give this show a 7.3/10. Tbh, I don't think it'll get a second season considering there was little to no promotion for the anime. Plus, cozy slice of life series like flying witch and kinoko inu tend to be one and done adaptations. I'm perfectly fine with that, though, because I'm really happy with how the story ended.

can't have an anime with russian in it without getting Sumippe to rack out the ol' spoken russian 😂
this one was so much fun along with some of the others this season, will miss this one loads I loved that this one had fair lots of different emotions going on but still keeps it to its slice of life ways ahahah
was really nice to see that kujima returns, it was somewhat foreboding that they kept mentioning about global warming stuff omg

That was a good recap, along with the music. It refreshes the memory.
Kujima is literally another son in that family. Although a very particular one.
I knew Kujima would reappear in this final episode since they said goodbye so early, halfway through. That's great!
This anime has made the time fly by. It's fun but also calming. I'll be thinking about it for a while.
