Unbelievably beautiful art, great cinematography, great voice acting, fun characters, and an interesting plot; what more could you ever want?

WHY IS EVERYTHING PEAK THIS SEASON!!! My social life is GONE.

yeah, that was pretty disappointing. I'm thinking of pacing myself at like 1-2 episodes per week anyway.

@Suprgamr123

Yep. I’m planning to pace myself as well. A bit disappointed all 20 episodes were dropped all at once. Oh netflix…. When will you learn 😫

First episode was rather nice. I like the 6 month deadline for our MC to prove herself — adds some extra tension and drive to the narrative.

Once at the school I was getting an Anne Shirley at university vibe. Looking forward to meeting more characters!

Anne Shirley was literally all I could think throughout. The backgrounds are even more beautiful in this show somehow.

WHY must Netflix ruin these shows with batch releases during an insanely stacked season? Surely they have the viewer data at this point and know anime is meant to be weekly and that retention is higher for weekly releases??

Nobody can beat Netflix when it comes to killing an anime this has so much potential and definitely would've been one of the front runner of winter 2026 anime season but nope Netflix had to be retarded and drop WHOLE 20 EPISODES ALL AT ONCE so there will be NO DISCUSSION surrounding this anime and it will be dead on arrival it's really sad because the art/animation, music and everything is so beautiful really seems like a passionate project...

It's up to us to enjoy a great series despite of the curse from Netflix.
Folks complain about both ends of the releasing issue, I say just enjoy the series whenever its out.

And Wit is certainly cooking with this show!

they can't get over the time when binging shows was their whole thing. And they own the market so they don't care to change.

it really surprises me to think how many people prefer to binge a show after it's over; it's a crazy time investment.

As expected, Netflix dropped all the episodes at once. I watched the first episode in the English dub, and I’m glad they went with a British accent, it fits the show really well. The art style and animation are also really strong.

i only listened to the first 5 minutes of the dub, but found it pretty immersion breaking. The Japanese performances were great though (as expected of a star studded cast).

It's an ONA. I don't get the complaints of Netflix dropping everything at once. It's their show, it's not airing weekly on Japanese TV, they can release it however they want.

Anyway, a pretty good if unremarkable start. Fish-out-of-water, gets lost, meets handsome, quirky love interest, got 6 months.

The art is very good, the background art especially looks uncanny.

@Mr_Sai
Wait a minute! ALL of it got released?! I guess I didn't look at the anime's Netflix page well. I just figured out that all of it is there after I saw your comment.
Wow, Why would they do that?
I guess I'll still be watching it on slower basis because this season is full.

I thought the dub was the opposite of immersion breaking considering the anime takes place in London and the dub uses a London cast. Which is rare, they actually put effort into making the dub sound authentic to its setting.

It's not realistic for someone in this time period to think Japan = ninjas right? Wikipedia says they didn't become popular outside of Japan until the 80s. Suggests this will be a pretty typically shallow historical anime that doesn't have much interest in its setting, and in the typical way that it can't even imagine how different the world before TV and radio was from today

no yeah, but listening to Japanese people talk in a posh Southern English accent while wearing a Kimono was too ridiculous for me.

it could be possible that she picked up some Japanese book and saw the idea of "ninjas" there. She even makes it out to be some kind of secret only she is in on, so it would hold that "ninjas" aren't a popular concept in the West yet.

I'm dropping this the moment someone says "senpai". Everything but the scenery and clothes is plain 2000's with no effort to make people's behavior and interactions even slightly plausible for the era, making it likely a straight school art club story.

@Suprgamr123 I got the impression she thought this was common knowledge. And she also mentions samurai (as warriors not as a class of hereditary bureaucrats) in the same thought. Clearly reflecting the image of Japan from jidai-geki movies not like, Japanese PAINTING which was actually popular in Europe around the fin de siecle and should be especially known at a PAINTING SCHOOL

Samurai were decently well known at the time. It's very possible that she thought it similar to Sparta; where every Spartan male was a warrior, every Japanese person is a samurai.

Another batch dump anime jeez thanks Netflix. I like the premise of Lili having to become a top artist in 6 months to prove her mother wrong.

The animation is absolutely stunning so far and the setting of London is lovely. As an artist myself I love animes that have heavy focus on art and the journey to learn it.
