| That epic fight was actually peak!. fern and stark teamwork is getting crazy. madhouse didn’t have to go that hard on a side quest dragon lol. Hiking all that way just for a footbath is peak Frieren humor. Her disappointed face is definitely becoming a meme lol. That sunset scene... himmel really was the goat of making memories out of nothing. hits different seeing it animated. The lighting during the sunset scene at the end was breathtaking. Madhouse still remains the gold standard. Tbh, this was just another 100000000000/10 comfort ep. the background art for mt. etwas was so unreal. The beauty of this show really just blows my mind each weekly episode. Those sick still frames looking so good or even better than manga panels and are rare in other series, but commonplace in Frieren lol. |
| That’s the thing, if these people simply just go from one place to another without taking tens of hundreds of detours, they might have reached their destination till now… but yeah, where’s the adventure then lol. This isn’t the most happening and busy part of the series, but yeah, the fact that the adaptation expands upon practically everything just tells the passionate take this series has over many others. Btw, hot springs on the top of the mountain really gives the nicest view right? This adaptation though keeps supplying us with a variety of meme materials too lol. That entire bit with Frieren throwing a tantrum I mean… the staff really is going above and beyond. Though the “actual” date part will be in the next episode, but yeah, hilarious how both Stark and Fern went to Frieren to take an advice or two about the date part lmaoo.. fully knowing she knows jackshit about it xD |

| Hydra quest, feet fan service and a little date. The group moves towards further north on the etwas mountains. I love how stark emulated the himmel energy, not giving up and being dead set on finding the hot spring even though it might not be there, which in turn emulated beautiful memories of a ridiculous journey which is so much precious as heisen relates. We make a quick kill on a hydra on the way no biggie thanks to prime bait stark. Finally we reach the little hidden hotspring & stark saying "this is something we all can enjoy together" make me go aww (i know you wanted to see fern feet you naughty boy) jk  They really know how to bring out max emotions on the tiniest of details. We reach the fortress city next. It was quite well designed ngl especially the buildings. Stark asks out fern for a date on a whim after fern had to make it obvious to pay attention to her and the gets caught off guard when he actually does. I bet she was jumping for joy after she left the room. Stark has no idea what to do then asks frieiren for help, yea thats right frieiren of all people. We then come to know of frierens legendary three strike tantrum phase which even made our boy himmel cower in fear and boy what a sight to behold.  GROWN ASS WOMAN BTW i mean onee san btw lol New frieren expression unlocked. Jokes aside suprisingly frieren offered stark some really nice advice and help to take care of fern on their date. The fact she remembers so many details about fern that heiter told her years ago, then there is heiter the loving father figure of fern knowing so much about her with the time they spent together <3 my heart. Some more beautiful heartwarming moments. Back at the hotel, Fern asking if she had any dating experiencing, my ears literally perked up when she said "Me and himmel went out on a date once" I got so excited for the juicy details and giggling but this elf baba i swear to god "When two people go alone for outing its a date fern" with that smug on her face. Sigh* fern was so me right there "this elf grandma is hopeless" Anyways fern is sleepless with her date tomorrow which is cute. I am excited too. Cant wait for next episode :3 |

| This is probably the most emotional we have seen Frieren be with her crying like that and even on the walk to that spring with the hero party she was complaining. Also Fern's reaction after being asked on a date was funny. Guess Stark will have a hard time again tho it's kinda hard to understand Fern at times. |

| Always love how everytime the party meets people, Stark in the background is just playing with the kids or helping othes in general, really got the good trait of a hero in him. That secret hot spring trip was one hell of an adventure, but it was all worth it for the view and experiencing the same thing the previous party did. Himmel always goes for a 100%, gotta explore the whole map before you move to the next one haha~ It feels weird to see Frieren with so much expressions! I swear the crying Frieren faces will be all over my feed for the next week or two lol! And to the main course: I really love how much we're focusing on Stark and Fern this season! So much development! I know Stark didn't even thought about it that well at first but nice job for asking a Date!! You watching this Sein!? We're doing progress!!!! I live for the Frieren Montages |

| To be fair, if a perma-stoic kuudere became an inconsolable banshee for several days in a row, I wouldn't put it past anyone to be at least a little freaked out. As funny as this entire episode was (I love Frieren's content little post-spa face so much), something about old man Heiter looking so animated just talking about Fern hit me a little harder than I was ready for.  |

| I can't stop praising how good the adaptation is. The attention to details and the way every small things are animated are just too good. This episode is full of Frieren meme face especially eating ice cream after Osen and the crying scene. The way they extended the frieren crying scene is the one of the funniest thing I have ever seen. |
| It starts out promising some kind of hot springs experience… hot springs episodes are an anime institution, so was curios to see how this show’s spin on that would be. And to my disappointment but absolutely no surprise, it was dialogue laden but boring... and none of the dialogue went much beyond typical girl-talk stuff. Dates and all that. Okay. There was a brief confrontation with a hydra styled dragon monster thing. Oh boy, another monster for Stark to fight. Isn’t magic a better tool to use to sever three heads at once? Oh never mind. The girls float in the air for safety and do nothing, letting the dude run around and be chased by the monster: That’s what he’s for afterall, fodder. “We’ll strike the monster while it’s attacking Stark.” How heroic. You go girl. I have to say Fern is becoming insufferable. She’s always been kind of a waste of space, not especially interesting visually or personality. But her constant gloomy demeanor and blank stares just suck any life out of the show (and it never had much to begin with) Oddly enough Frieren herself actually brought some much needed levity and character for a change. 2/5 Decent scenery, I especially like the design of the interiors this time- nice medieval architecture interiors, also the town with the green shutters everywhere. Passable music; low energy.. way too much standing around and talking as usual. The show literally has no plot. And it’s categorized as a shonen… |

| OMG IT'S HAPPENING, FERN AND STARK ARE GOING OUT IN A DATE! Although I'm not sure if Stark realizes the meaning of that date to Fern, just like what Frieren considers a date. But before going into that, let's talk about the 1st half of the episode, where we see our main Trio going on an adventure to find that little spring we saw in the trailer, where they took a feet bath. The path to go there was rough, and in the end, it was only a small pond. They actually only went there, because Stark insisted in doing so, and that was because of what he heard from his master, Eisen. This anime once again reflects about how sometimes in life what matters is the journey, and not the final destination, and in this case, for Stark, he knew that the pond wasn't worth it, but hearing how Eisen made such good memories from it, Stark too wanted to make good memories with Frieren and Fern, which once again shows how he's enjoying this adventure with them, recalling the dillemma from episode 1 of this season, where he was asked to go to another group, and Frieren was afraid that Stark didn't actually enjoy travelling with them. It's quite the opposite, Stark is really enjoying this adventure with Frieren and Fern. That final scene with the 3 just appreciating the view, just like Himmel's party did all those years ago, was just beautiful and wholesome. Those memories will be for sure unforgetable for all 3 of them. I also found really cute that Stark was also happy that it was a small pond, where all 3 of them could do a feet bath, since in other hot springs, he would have had to enjoy them alone, since genders are separated. After this wholesome part, we then get the unexpected invitation from Stark to Fern, where he asks her to go out in a date with him. In fact, Stark did this to mess with her, since she's always picking with him, but he wasn't expecting for her to actually accept and have that reaction. It was quite funny how before that Fern was just like "Pay attention to me" to Stark. Like Sein said, JUST GET TOGETHER ALREADY! Honestly, I loved this 2nd part of the episode, not only we got some development in the relations between the characters, we also got more interactions between Stark and Frieren, since we don't have that many moments between these 2 alone, we got to see how wholesome Heiter was to Fern, knowing really well what she liked, and Frieren having memorized all of that. The moment Frieren said that she knew all of that because of Heiter, my eyes started tearing up a bit, and it also happened in the end of the episode, when Fern was looking up to the moon, almost as she was asking advice to Heiter... We actually didn't have the date between the 2 this episode, which is understandable, since such a big event needs at least half a episode of preparation! I myself need a full week to prepare for that event, we all have been waiting for this since season 1, so... I'm really curious to see how this date will turn out. It's cute Fern is so worried about the date, while Stark clearly didn't understand why Fern reacted the way she did. It was also really cute how Frieren is just trying to help Stark out, helping Stark and Fern getting along. It's in situations like this that Sein is completely needed though, since Frieren isn't able to fully help the 2 of them, I hope he's doing well! Overall, another wholesome and amazing episode, and probably one of the most exciting ones for the Stark X Fern Ship. Can't wait for the date next week, I just know it will be wholesome, and that the 2 of them will eventually start to understand each other better too! I'm so happy I'm getting to watch Frieren again, now weekly! There are still 7 weeks awaiting for this exciting Friday release! Also, this is my 1000th post here on MAL! I couldn't think a more fitting post to be my 1000th, then this one, about Frieren, one of my favorite anime ever, and in one of my favorite episodes so far! | That hydra lizard thing was so cool. Kinda wish they showed us how they defeated it but oh well. The foot onsen part was great. I'm glad they were all able to enjoy it together. I love how the scene changes between the past and future and there are some differences like the trees. I remember some scenes in Season 1 being a bit lazy and reusing the exact same background. Anyway, the way back was troublesome lol. We saw a lot of new faces of Frieren this episode oh dear. The Frieren fresh out of the bath look. The throwing a tantrum like a child look. That threw me off guard the most what the hell. I wonder what happened that made her cry like that. Probably lost a book or something. It was funny how the old lady said Frieren was young but I guess she really is a child at heart. This was another great episode. Frieren is actually a great mom for Frieren. Idk if she'd see herself as a mom. But she'd probably make a great mom if she had a child with Himmel... Anyway, looking forward to the Stark x Fern date. I hope they actually show it. |

| Man, what a cliffhanger, much like I expected. Next week is going to be so great. I hope they expand a few bits of the date even further, since they are doing that here and there in the adaptation so far. They couldn't have handled the source material any better than this, as expected from MadHouse when they gather a great staff. |
