Huh, no review yet? Let me fix that!
It's been a while since I reviewed a one-shot, so this will be the newest one.
How did I find this?
Manga Plus has always, at least, promoted a one-shot in their app, usually the award-winning indie.
I could be wrong, but I think this is one of them.
Appealing (Why did I get into the manga?)
The plot and artstyle
...
I mentioned in my past review that I have an artist's heart, and I love a story about an upcoming artist becoming better at their stuff. I'm intrigued to check this one out because I was wondering how they fit this kind of story in just 30-70 pages.
And for the artstyle.
It looks gorgeous. It was enough to motivate me to read.
Platform
Manga Plus, and I think it will also be on Bookwalker sometime later.
The review;
Story/plot
A High School Manga Artist was just in his own day, making manga and learning in school, when all of a sudden, his classmate discovered his work. She realized that one of the characters that the main guy drew was inspired by her.
This led to an unpredicament situation where she asked him to be a third-party for her and her team's performance practice.
I'll be honest here, the story is too fast. Let me be clear, this one-shot could be a cool 5 to 10-chapter short manga, but it didn't. The story falls so much, especially the ending. It felt like both parties didn't learn anything from their encounter, and it's shameful. I said this because when you read it, you can clearly see that both the main boy, Fuji, and the main girl, Nazuna, have chemistry. They both could be great MCs. What a shame, man.
Characters
As I said, it will be great if the one-shot were a 5 to 10-chapter short manga. I'm just sad that this story wouldn't be a full-length manga. I adore the characters' interaction. One could only hope.
Illustration
This, however, *Chef's Kiss* Magnificent. I could recommend this one-shot just for the art. It is the most gorgeous art for a one-shot that I ever seen. (TBH I haven't seen many, lol.)
Proportions of the manga
Two Thumbs Up!
The conclusion
The good
Great read.
The bad
I wish it were longer and had a proper plot point.
Gratitude
Thanks, Manga Plus! Please. Always surprised me with one-shot like this. I would love to read some of them!
Overall 7/10
I enjoy reading this, especially the art.
