SPOILERS FOR REZE MOVIE (warning for the people who will read this)
Pardon for the profile comment but my inbox is full. I have a review for Reze arc. To summarize, I loved the presentation and I am not only talking about the animation. Basically that is the only thing I really liked and Reze of course. Things I disliked in this arc:
- Denji remains a simp for Makima with zero development in both his personality and the fact that he still hasn't learned anything about how he can utilize his raw power.
- Romance developed very poorly. Basically it only exists here as fanservice and not a ''tool'' to help the plot grow further.
- I disliked the fact that they used like ... half an hour approximately to show us how NEET Angel Devil is. They could summarize the new info about him inm like 4 minutes
- Fights felt exhausting and that is because there weren't any risks or consequences for Denji. Reze annihilated him so many times and he kept coming back with zero problems. In other words the fights were only to impress and Denji didn't learn shit or grown with this fight. He stayed the same.
And of course what I hated the most was how the death was Reze's handled and Reze in general and I care about this because I really liked Reze. Just when the mangaka started giving us some plot about her past aka the character growth started to begin, Makima appeared to kill her in the most violent way possible not because she cares for Denji but because she stole her toy. And that also leads me that we also learned shit about Makima other than the same rinse and repeat trope that she is bitch that manipulates every living thing in the series but reasons unknown everyone is scared of her and only scene she is ''scary'' was the train scene in S1. I am sure that's about it. Probably forget many things to tell. Thankfully many complaints fade after 85 chapter which is why I continue reading the manga because I can see the potential further down the line unless the mangka will repeat the mistakes. But we will see how the mangaka will handle this.
