I think watching it with someone might be a pleasant feeling, though I never had the privilege myself since I'm a very reserved person irl, but I believe that people who have company here are very lucky to share the space.

Death Parade is one of Studio Madhouse's finest works, even the special/alternate version Death Billards is no less good, I think the special episode is the best way to start off, as it is like testing the waters before diving in, regardless it's the best of the best psychological anime out there.

I love FMAB, but I'm personally very connected to FMA, I think the rewritten version (FMA) actually distills the essence from the whole and further takes the liberty to add more nuance to the narrative so, I also recommend checking it out at some point.



I'm honestly drawn to revisiting, I think repetition reveals layers I didn’t see before, and I also believe in the magic of return, revisiting makes the old feel new.

It’s tough getting into reading when your brain’s already cooked half the time, so the fact you’re easing into novels and non-fiction says a lot, and hey, the manga backlog struggle is real, I buy them like I’m building a personal library and then forget they exist for months, lol.

High-stakes, fast-paced stories are addicting for sure, I still get blown away by stuff I saw back in the day, like One Outs, Kaiji, Akagi, Death Parade, they hit hard even today.

I'm consuming less new stuff and more willing to revisit a lot of the good stuff I've seen already, revisiting has honestly been very rewarding for me, recently finished rewatching Romeo X Juliet and The Mentalist, and both of them were great experiences.

I think binging is the only way sometimes, I like the honesty about the manga attention span too, and you're not alone there.

Shounen, seinen, horror, and sci-fi? Sounds like a solid lineup to me, seems like you're into high-stakes stuff with a bit of edge, and yeah, mixing anime with other media just makes sense, no reason to stay boxed in.
