I started watching anime as a kid, with precious shoujo like Sailor Moon and CC Sakura and, with my brother, Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Inuyasha, Rurouni Kenshin, YuYu Hakusho. But I personally consider my 'anime journey' to have started in middle school, when a friend showed me Ouran High School Host Club. That's when I dug deep into reverse harem and started developing my own 'taste', which has of course changed since then.
I generally don't have the patience to pick up huge series (hello One Piece), though I enjoy anime shows more than movies since there's more room for world building and plot and character development. Gems like Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away are exceptions though and will always hold a special place in my heart <3
Over the last years though I've learned to be more patient and appreciate longer shows. I owe FMA: Brotherhood for that (yes, I know that's not even that long, but I'm kinda proud of myself for making that change!).
I'm not an avid watcher of seasonal anime. I occasionally watch a few but at the moment I'm more focused on catching up with classics (90s/2000s/2010s).
My watching style is more: picking up something I've wrapped my head around for a few days and then watching it through, beginning to end. That way I feel I'm more involved in the story.
Feel free to browse and drop me a rec if you feel like it :D
