While the first part was a desperate survival run, this arc slows down to tackle the actual cost of war. Watching the chaotic transition to the Federacy and seeing the squad try to figure out "peace" hits incredibly hard. It tackles trauma and purpose without ever feeling preachy. This isn't just another mecha fight; it is character writing at its absolute peak. If the first season hooked you, this one will break you and put you back together.

The production quality is just insane. A-1 Pictures uses so many clever visual tricks, like the changing aspect ratios and silent shots—that tell the story better than words ...

Three episodes in, and this anime feels like a joke. The Beginning After the End looks like it was animated in PowerPoint—maybe even worse. Characters barely move, fights have zero impact, and every scene feels like it's missing... well, life. Even the webcomic, which is just still images, somehow has more emotion and better pacing. Honestly, it runs at more frames per second than this mess.

It’s a shame, because the story itself has a ton of potential. But when the animation is this flat and lifeless, it’s hard to care. The big moments don’t hit, the world feels empty, and the magic is completely lost.
