I’ll try to keep this review short, since this is just a “cute manga,” and it doesn’t expand much from it — every development is one of the two: wholesome or embarrassing.

Let’s be real, if this was 20% high school boy, hormones raging, accurate, then the whole tone for this story would be drastically different, but it isn’t for the better, since the premise is just plain and cute.

The plot and characters are all negligible — they don’t have close to as much depth as you’d want in a story, and there’s tons of cliches and stereotypes from a typical “cute manga,” but it’s still ... surprisingly enjoyable.

So what if this premise has been done before; so what if this doesn’t have the most unique plot line or characters; so what if this isn’t close to being realistic; this is a manga for f*cks’s sake, and it is a very cute one at that. I NEVER read female lead mangas, but I guess this has melted my “masculine” heart.

- Despite its predictability, I still enjoyed it because I'm a fan of this genre and enjoy lighthearted, humorous tales.
- If the art style complements the story by enhancing the humor and silliness of the characters and situations, then it's fitting.
- The characters are intentionally portrayed as silly and flawed, adding to the humor and charm of the story.
- While they may not be well-rounded in the traditional sense, their exaggerated quirks make them entertaining.
- Realism in character reactions and events might take a backseat to ... humor and entertainment, which is expected and acceptable within the context of the story's tone.

this manga for you if you want

- fluffy romance with no extra dramas
- loads of insulin and awkward moments in public while reading ( which i experienced)

this manga not that much unique , the plot is simple but the characters are the main plus point in the manga .
but their relationship progress smoothly with blend of comedy and romance.
its just have few characters , but their characters are well given.

i would definitely recommend this manga , its just a short 20 chapters but its gets ended soon could have gone longer , but if you are looking short manga ... go for it , its worth the time.

But it was a pleasant experience. I just need this one question, though.
Why? It's always frustrated me that the story always ended when the two main characters finally came together. Like, it feels good knowing their relationship went better, but it felt like they cut it short. What happened to their lover' lives? Like, are there any challenges that will make them have to grow stronger as a couple? You understand what I meant, right?

But anyway, let's start the review.

How did I find this?
I got recommended by Kito-senpai from a YouTube short.
He made me curious because it has the same ... theme as Magokoro Scramble! and that's why I had to check it out. I'm pleased that this manga is published on a provider app called MangaUP! I don't need to read this one illegally.

Appealing
The premise itself sounds very engaging. I really need this kind of story because it's so dry. There aren't many that I know of, and I just want to consume a bit of it.

Platform
Like I said, it was published on MangaUP!, but I don't really know anywhere else that provides this manga. Usually, there is a bookwalker version, but unfortunately, this title doesn't appear on the site.

The review;
Story/plot
A girl with telepathic power, who can read other people's minds, encounters someone who loves her so much that he is daydreaming the whole time.
And throughout the story, their feeling actually developed, but as I said, the story ended where they finally went out. It felt like the story was cut short due to the manga not being popular enough. At least, that's my guess as to why it didn't go beyond chapter 20. Such a shame, in my opinion.

Illustration
I love it. The design is so simple and cute.
But I had no idea about this until someone mentioned it on the reply from one of the chapters. The art style changed as the chapter went on. So, I went ahead and checked, and yes, there is a change, but I think it was not as bad. It looks roughly the same, and I can understand that the author was trying to find their art foundation.

Characters
To be honest, the ML doesn't really have character. I kind of... I don't want to use hate because hate is a strong word.
But I dislike the ML a little bit due to a lack of characteristics. He's just your typical guy who is really bland and ordinary.
As to the FL, Minamikawa, she is a very interesting character. How she tried her best not to fall in love, and we can see her thought process of how she does it. It felt very cute. NGL

Proportions of the manga
Two thumbs up. I don't have anything to say about this. I like it.

I would absolutely recommend this manga to the romance manga enthusiast. It's a good manga to read when you want to waste time.

Based on the common gimmick of "I can read the mind of the person who likes me" Takamori-kun wo Damarasetai!! goes exactly how you'd expect. Very run of the mill short but sweet fluffy high school romcom. The only things holding the series back are its relatively short length and the female lead's reluctance to change her mind until far too late in the story. There's many series where one of the leads takes way too long to realize their feelings, but usually this is shored up by a slow burn story. Here, it feels like there's just not much story left by the time ... the female lead realizes her feelings. Additionally, her reason for denying her love of the male lead is pretty dumb. Now nobody is reading romance manga for the realism, but it just kind of feels weird that her reason for not liking the male lead in the beginning boils down to "he likes me and thinks about me which makes me flustered". She never really explicitly says that she dislikes him, yet continuously tries to find ways to turn him down just so she doesn't have to hear herself be complimented. She is given the easiest layup ever and chooses to spend most of the story trying to swat the ball away. By the time she actually tries scoring, the game is over. All in all, an ok manga that's good for you to pick up if you're looking for a short and cute romcom that doesn't require a lot of investment.

Nothing so special about this manga. And maybe somehow you could choose to read or not, but I guess the possibility of not reading this manga is higher than reading it.

In general, I gotta say this manga is a solid 6.5/10, but if you want to be more critical, 5.5/10. Here are some of my gentle comments about Takamori-kun wo Damarasetai:

- Art: 6.5/10, nothing really shocking. It's normal, or not to be so plain. Both the mains are not so "beautiful" as I would expect. Anyway the art is not really a major thing to be considered, so...
- Plot: 7.5/10, quite interesting. There has ... been a lot of mangas following the path of "someone can read their mind and somehting unexpected happen", like Spy x Family for instance, or some weird mangas I read some months ago about wife can read husband's mind or main reads tsundere mind. But to be honest, this kind of "theme" like this hasn't been really that popular yet, so that's why it's interesting somehow for me to see them, for the curiosity.
- Storytelling: 5.5/10, quite boring. I didn't expect too much, and I was right. Slow development, but the way the mangaka describes it isn't that interesting even a bit for me. No big shocking deal somehow, all the things I could guess from the start. I don't say that other mangas in this type are boring, too, but this manga really lets me feel down, as it's too repetitive, I guess I have to wait until 20th~30th chapters are published.
- Enjoyment: 6/10, still decent to enjoy.
- Side stuff (fan service, side characters, imouto development, etc.): not yet, so I'm not judging here.
( +1 for the imouto btw )

After all I can't judge too much, but for now, it's quite solid for me that I would give this manga a 6.5/10. It's fine, after all, and it should be in your own list (though I guess you wouldn't appreciate it too much)
