Tokyo Revengers: Tenjiku-hen

After succeeding in their winter conflict against Taiju Shiba and his Black Dragons, the Tokyo Manji Gang absorbs their group's remaining members. Due to his heroic courage and indomitable spirit, Takemichi Hanagaki should have accomplished his goal of defeating the tragic fate awaiting his girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana.

In reality, Takemichi's troubles are far from over. Although Takemichi's actions have exposed Tetta Kisaki's treachery, the conniving schemer has found power elsewhere: Tenjiku, a dangerous gang led by the enigmatic Izana Kurokawa. Izana sets his sights on Manjirou "Mikey" Sano, pursuing a vicious interest in the Tokyo Manji Gang's aloof leader.

In the future, Takemichi discovers that the machinations of Izana and Kisaki led to Mikey's moral ruin—a downfall that directly results in Hinata's death. Unfortunately, a terrible loss robs Takemichi of his time-leaping ability, stranding him in the past with one final chance to rescue everyone he loves.

I really liked how this episode fixed Takemitchys character and made him a much more enjoiable prtagonist to follow. Also loved how Hina had more autonomy in this season and wasn't just being pushed around by the plot.

This season really did something for the character dynamics and development of this Anime. Honestly, a season like this was really needed to uphold my liking for this anime.
It was a solid watch with a lot of drama, action and emotional damage. The comedic aspect of the first season was much less present, but that was a good decision. If Takemitchy was as clumsy, whiny and ... annoying, as he was in the first season, that would have been a real dealbreaker. had had the right development at the right time.

The backstories of some new characters really added some depth to the whole thing.

Mixed Feelings

So...where to begin...? This season finally picks up again, adds tension and actual drama. It still adds a little bit too many useless backstory of characters that we see for a couple minutes, and it cuts into time that should be used to progress the story.

Way to few twists, as there are almost none, which is super weird as there is so much space and story to work with. In the end, it all meant f all, and the ending was too predictable.

Don't get me wrong, I love the story for what it is but there is a tremendous amount of wasted potential. ... I know there's gonna be a 4th and last season, but I doubt it can redeem it as a whole.

There is something to be said about Tackemichy and how they wrote him: He makes me so damn angry, he doesn't do 5h1t when he could have done a 1000 things. That they're able to make me feel so much anger and frustration says that they've done a good job...in a certain way 😅. But character wise, bro BE AT LEAST A LITTLE BIT SMARTER!

Anyway,
Season one: pretty good, nice start.
Season 2: absolute drag, slow and lots of useless backpeddeling. FRUSTRATING AF.
Season 3 (or 2.5 really): Good continuation, but could have been done in 8 episodes and should have added waaay more story, more back and forth to the future and could have had cool twiats and 'wtf' moments....

! So dear readers, 🐻 (bear) in mind that if you watch this to it's current completion you will be left hanging on a LOT of points and any sort of conclusion to most of the plots in this show. Peace ✌🏼

Tokyo Revengers: Tenjiku-hen

With the second and currently final season of Tokyo Revengers, the anime continued its mental torture. Although the main character Takimichi has become more bearable and had a cool moment for the first time in the entire series, it hasn't helped the series any further.

Once again, Tokyo Revengers doesn't know what it's supposed to be, it tries everything possible to somehow seem ‘good’. You can accept time travel and all that nonsense. But when the anime suddenly turned into a shounen where people had superpowers and could move at the speed of sound, my brain cells were gone. Everything the author tried to ... do was a disaster. And I liked the anime despite its flaws. It was just entertaining in a bad way.

So much could have been done with the manga and anime, but this was apparently the wish of no one else except the people who gave up on the first season.

However, I do give the anime credit for giving Kisaki's kind of a pretty interesting ending, as well as the final confrontation. Was interesting, well done.
